The original 13th-century part of the hotel is for guests who value atmosphere and individuality. Oak beams, traditional panelling and the quirks of an old building give each room its own character, with modern comforts thoughtfully added.
Because these rooms are genuinely historic, layouts and features vary. If quiet, step-free access or a particular room feature matters to you, please speak to us before booking.
Garden Wing
Space, calm and the gardens close by
Our Garden Wing rooms offer generous proportions and a more contemporary feel. Some ground-floor rooms open directly towards the gardens and riverside, while selected rooms look across the Avon towards Salisbury Cathedral.

Executive Rooms
Larger-than-average Garden Wing rooms for leisure or business stays. Ground-floor rooms open towards the gardens and riverside; first-floor rooms offer elevated views. Robes, slippers, Nespresso machine and complimentary water are included. Can be set up as a twin on request.

Family Rooms
Spacious Garden Wing rooms with either a double and single bed or a double and sofa bed. Many look across the river towards Salisbury Cathedral.

Junior Suites
A king-size bed, dedicated lounge space, robes, slippers and thoughtful extras for a slower stay.

Four Poster Room
A very special junior suite, the Heath Suite is a romantic retreat in the historic wing, with a draped four-poster bed, vaulted ceiling and preserved beams.

Cardinal Suite
Set in the oldest part of the hotel, with a king-size bed, spacious lounge area, exposed beams and a modern bathroom. Extras include a Nespresso machine, house-filtered water, robes and slippers.
